Richard Lewis, M.D.

Richard Lewis, M.D., joins us from Austin, Texas, and is the Chair of Psychiatry
for UCH. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami School
of Medicine's seven-year Bachelor of Science/MD program. He received his
postdoctoral training from The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.


Ravikumar Bhalavat, M.D.

Ravikumar Bhalavat, M.D., joins us from Shreveport, La. He received his
medical degree from Government Medical College, Bhavnagar, India, and his internship and residency from the Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport.


Mathew Thomas, M.D.
Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon

Dr. Mathew Thomas has joined the Bel Air Center for Plastic and Hand
Surgery, the practice of Ramon DeJesus, M.D.

Dr. Thomas received his undergraduate degree with honors from Princeton
University and his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of
Medicine. He completed both his surgical internship and his general surgery
training as part of a six-year integrated residency program in plastic and
reconstructive surgery; this included training at Harvard Medical School (which
comprises of medical centers such as Brigham and Women’s, Massachusetts
General, Beth Israel Deaconess, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Shriners
Hospital for Children). Dr. Thomas subsequently completed a fellowship in
orthopedic hand surgery at Massachusetts General. Prior to joining Dr.
DeJesus’ practice, he served as an instructor of surgery with the department of
orthopedic surgery at Massachusetts General.

Dr. Thomas has been a recipient of a number of awards and honors including,
most recently, the Regan Fellowship, giving medical residents the opportunity to
join a medical mission abroad and participate in the life-changing work of
Operation Smile and its affiliated physicians.

As part of the Bel Air Center for Plastic and Hand Surgery, Dr. Thomas will
specialize in both plastic and hand surgery. He is experienced in facial lesion
removal, breast reconstructions, skin flap repairs, hand injury repair, carpal
tunnel surgery, and more.

Hasan Shakoor, M.D.
Pulmonologist

Dr. Hasan Shakoor has joined the Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates of Baltimore. Having earned his medical degree from the Aga Khan University in Pakistan, Shakoor completed his internship and residency at the Pennsylvania State University, where he also served as chief resident in internal medicine. His fellowship was completed at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in the department of pulmonary/allergy and critical care medicine.

Raj Yalamanchili,  M.D.
Fellowship-Trained in Total Joint Replacement and Reconstruction

Dr. Raj Yalamanchili is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon.  His practice is focused on knee and hip replacement and preservation. He performs minimally invasive partial and total joint replacement as well as hip and knee arthroscopy. He is interested in complex revision surgery for failed and infected joint replacements and periprosthetic fractures. 

Dr. Yalamanchili also serves as the Director for Joint Replacement at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.  He prefers an individualized approach to all patients as each patient is unique and deserves tailored treatment. He customizes his office visits to address the specific needs and concerns of individual patients in a relaxed atmosphere. 

Dr. Yalamanchili has presented and published research in peer reviewed journals and national symposia and has won numerous awards and scholarships for excellence in research and academics.  He was drawn to orthopedic surgery as a career because he felt this profession would allow him to help his patients immediately with both operative and non-operative solutions. Specializing in joint replacement and preservation enables him to offer treatment that brings them pain relief, the ability to return to their daily activities, and to resume hobbies that they have not been able to do for months or even years.
In his leisure time, Dr. Yalamanchili enjoys a variety of activities including working on cars, reading, playing tennis and spending time with his family and friends.
