Dr. Onobrakpeya (Dr. Ono) is the Medical Director of the University of Maryland Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology located at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.

She received her medical degree at Obafemi Awolowo University School of Medicine in Nigeria in 1988 and attended The University of Connecticut School of Medicine where she completed her residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in endocrinology and metabolism. She received an MBA degree from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and is an inducted Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.

She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), and the Endocrine Society.

Dr. Ono treats adult patients with endocrine disorders and her areas of special interest include metabolic bone disease, management of thyroid disorders and diabetes mellitus.
