John P. O'Hearn, M.D.

Doctor / Surgeon Bio

Dr. O’Hearn received his medical degree from Creighton University in Nebraska. After completing his first year of postgraduate training at Creighton, he moved to Baltimore and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. While at Maryland, he received extensive training in total joint arthroplasty and pediatric orthopedics at the James Lawrence Kernan Hospital. He received training in orthopedic trauma at the world renowned Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland.

As a member of the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center community, he has had the pleasure of serving as Chief of Orthopedics and president of the medical staff.

Dr. O’Hearn has extensive experience in total joint arthroplasty including minimally invasive partial and total knee arthroplasty. He has a special interest in computer and robotic assisted joint replacement, minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty, arthroscopic surgery including rotator cuff and anterior cruciate ligament repair.
