Derek McCoy, M.D. has joined Upper Chesapeake Orthopedic Specialty Group. Dr. McCoy is a Family Medicine physician, who earned a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Prior to joining the practice, Dr. McCoy worked in both emergency and urgent care settings and as a team physician with a variety of college, semi-professional, and professional sports teams. He is passionate about working with athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Dr. McCoy is also committed to community outreach and involvement. He is the primary physician involved in Upper Chesapeake Health's sports medicine/athletic training contract with the John Carroll School. Dr. McCoy lives in Harford County with his wife and two young children and looks forward to building his practice here.
