Upper Chesapeake Health welcomes V. Dixon King, Jr., M.D. as its new Director of Pathology. Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Dr. King received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency and a fellowship in medical microbiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. King is a past president of the Maryland Society of Pathologists and a Fellow and Inspector with the College of American Pathologists.

Khalid Puthawala, M.D.
Upper Chesapeake Health
Pulmonologist

Triple boarded in pulmonary, critical care and internal medicine, Dr. Khalid Puthawala has recently joined the medical staff at Upper Chesapeake Health. He practices at both Harford Memorial Hospital and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Dr. Puthawala earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Case Western University. He served his residency in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Medical Center and a Fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Puthawala is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital. He is part of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates Practice of Baltimore. Dr. Puthawala treats patients with diseases of the respiratory tract and hospitalized patients with complex, sometimes life-threatening, critical illnesses.

Roy Phillips, M.D.

Diabetes and Endocrine Center
Dr. Roy Phillips has been named Medical Director of Endocrinology and the Diabetes and Endocrine Center located on the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Campus. Dr. Phillips will be caring for both adolescents and adults who have diabetes or a metabolic disorder. Prior to coming to Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Dr. Phillips was in private practice in Harford County for 27 years. He is board certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology.
